These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Quilstow website and the engagement of our legal services. By using this website or engaging Quilstow Advocates & Solicitors for any service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.

- "User" / "You" — any individual or entity accessing this website or engaging our services
- "Services" — legal services provided by Quilstow, including mediation, estate administration, and telecommunications law advisory
- "Engagement" — a formal retainer or instruction agreement between you and Quilstow
- "Content" — all text, materials, and information published on the Quilstow website
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website or submitting an enquiry to Quilstow, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. Use of this website constitutes acceptance of these terms in their current form.
3. Description of Services
Quilstow provides legal services in Malaysia across three practice areas: mediation and conciliation, probate and estate administration, and telecommunications law advisory. Service availability is subject to practitioner capacity and the nature of each matter. We reserve the right to decline any engagement that falls outside our areas of expertise or that presents a conflict of interest.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to use this website and our services in good faith, for lawful purposes only. You must not submit false or misleading information, attempt to interfere with the operation of this website, or use any content from this site for commercial purposes without prior written consent. You are responsible for the accuracy of all information you provide to us in connection with a matter.
5. No Solicitor-Client Relationship
Submitting an enquiry via this website or making telephone contact does not constitute the formation of a solicitor-client relationship. A relationship is only established upon the execution of a formal engagement letter or retainer agreement signed by an authorised representative of Quilstow. Any information you share prior to engagement is received without legal professional privilege unless and until a formal engagement is confirmed.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, design elements, and documentation, is the property of Quilstow or its licensors and is protected under Malaysian intellectual property law. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and view this content for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from any content without written permission.
7. Fees and Payment
All fees are agreed in writing prior to the commencement of any engagement. Fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Payment terms will be set out in the engagement letter. Invoices are payable within the period specified therein. Quilstow reserves the right to suspend work on a matter where invoices remain unpaid beyond the agreed period.
8. Service-Specific Terms
Mediation & Conciliation: Participation in mediation is voluntary. Quilstow acts as a neutral facilitator and does not represent either party. Any settlement reached is subject to the parties' own review and, if desired, independent legal advice before signature.
Probate & Estate Administration: Timelines for estate administration are subject to factors outside Quilstow's control, including court processing times and the cooperation of third parties. Estimated timeframes are provided as guidance only and do not constitute a commitment.
Telecommunications Law Advisory: Legal advice on regulatory matters reflects the position as at the date of the advice. Regulatory frameworks change, and Quilstow accepts no liability for changes in law or policy occurring after the date of written advice.
9. Disclaimers
The content of this website is provided for general information purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Quilstow makes no representations as to the accuracy or completeness of any information on this website. Legal outcomes cannot be predicted, and nothing on this website should be interpreted as a representation about the outcome of any matter.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Quilstow's liability arising from or in connection with any engagement shall be limited to the fees paid for that specific engagement. Quilstow shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses. This limitation does not apply to liability arising from fraud or wilful misconduct.
11. Confidentiality
All information shared with Quilstow in the course of an engagement is treated as confidential in accordance with our professional obligations under the Legal Profession Act 1976. Confidentiality obligations continue beyond the conclusion of any engagement unless disclosure is required by law.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement on reasonable written notice. Quilstow may terminate an engagement immediately where a conflict of interest arises, where the client has provided materially misleading information, or where continued engagement would require us to act contrary to professional obligations. Upon termination, fees for work completed to that point remain payable.
13. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising from these terms or from an engagement with Quilstow shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within thirty days, the parties agree to attempt mediation before commencing formal proceedings. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and any legal proceedings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Lumpur.
14. General Provisions
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Quilstow with respect to the use of this website. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force. Quilstow's failure to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver of that right. These terms may be updated from time to time; continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
